This venture was very successful in generating and increasing sales, but was not effective in achieving profitability. The main reason for this was the amount of actual overhead experienced. This overhead was not initially anticipated by me at the beginning of that venture. Items including credit checking, warranty program management, extensive travel, maintaining warehouse stock and the management and expense of a national sales force were expenses not originally forecast or expected. With this level of overhead, it was mathematically impossible to achieve profitability.

第四部分:阅读表达(共5小题,每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面的短文,请根据短文后的要求答题(请注意问题后的字数要求)
There’s a lot of discussion these days about fit kids, Being fit is a way of saying a person eats well, gets a lot of physical activity (exercise), and has a healthy weight. If you’re fit, your body works well, feels good, and can do all the things you want to do.
Here are four rules to live by, if you’re a kid who wants to be fit.
1. Eat a variety of foods, especially fruits and vegetables.
You may have a favorite food, but the best choice is to eat a variety. If you eat different foods, you’re more likely to get the nutrients your body needs. Taste new foods and old ones you haven’t tried for a while.
2. Drink water and milk most often.
When you’re really thirsty, cold water is the No. 1 thirst-quencher. And there’s a reason your school cafeteria offers cartons of milk. Kids need calcium to grow strong bones, and milk is a great source of this mineral.
3. Listen to your body.
What does it feel like to be full? When you’re eating, notice how your body feels and when your stomach feels comfortably full. Sometimes, people eat too much because they don’t notice when they need to stop eating. Eating too much can make you feel uncomfortable, and over a period of time, it can lead to________________________________________________________________ .
4. Be active.
One job you have as a kid-and it’s a fun one-is that you get to figure out which activities you like best. Not everyone loves baseball or soccer. Maybe your passion is karate, or kickball, or dancing. Ask your parents to help you do your favorite activities regularly. Find ways to be active every day.
81What is the best title of this passage? (Please answer within 10 words)
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
82Which sentence in the passage can be replaced by the following one?
You might keep yourself healthy and vivid as a result of a variety of foods.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
83Please fill in the blank in the 4th paragraph with proper words or phrases to complete the sentence. (Please answer within 10 words)
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
84Which of the four rules do you think is the most important for you? Why?
(Please answer within 30 words)
85Translate the underlined sentence in the last paragraph into Chinese.

第四部分 阅读表达
81Be a fit kid/ How to be a fit kid/ How to be fit
82If you eat different foods, you’re more likely to get the nutrients your body needs.
83unhealthy weight gain.
841) I think the last rule is the most important for me, because I don’t like doing exercises, taking active part in sports does me good in keeping fit.
2) I think the first rule is the most important for me, because sometimes I am good at having my favorite food and don’t like to have fruits.

Artificial Neural Networks  创作主题 understand the AIC kernel (artificial intelligence computer)

What They Are

A neural network is, in essence, an attempt to simulate the brain.

Actually, a neural network is attempted to simulate the brain.

Neural network theory revolves around the idea that certain key properties of biological neurons can be extracted and applied to simulations, thus creating a simulated (and very much simplified) brain.

Neural network theory revolves around the design that a variety of key properties of memory units can be extracted and applied to simulations like brain, thus creating simulated very simplify.

The first important thing to understand then, is that the components of an artificial neural network are an attempt to recreate the computing potential of the brain.

The first important thing to understand the components of an artificial neural network are an attempt to recreate the computing potential capacity.

The second important thing to understand, however, is that no one has ever claimed to simulate anything as complex as an actual brain.

The second important thing to understand no one has ever declared to simulate anything as complex as a brain.

Whereas the human brain is estimated to have something on the order of ten to a hundred billion neurons, a typical artificial neural network (ANN) is not likely to have more than 1,000 artificial neurons.

While the human brain is estimated to have something on the order of ten to a hundred billion neurons, a typical artificial neural network is not likely to have more than 1000 units.

Before discussing the specifics of artificial neural nets though, let us examine what makes real neural nets - brains - function the way they do.

Before discussing the specifics of ai net though, let us examine what makes real neural nets-brains-function the way they do.

Perhaps the single most important concept in neural net research is the idea of connection strength.

Maybe the single most important concept in AIC research is the idea of connection strength.

Neuroscience has given us good evidence for the idea that connection strengths - that is, how strongly one neuron influences those neurons connected to it - are the real information holders in the brain.

Neuroscience has given us good evidence for the design that connection strengths. That is, how strongly one neuron influences those neurons connected to it, are the real information holders in the brain.

Learning, repetition of a task, even exposure to a new or continuing stimulus can cause the brain's connection strengths to change, some synaptic connections becoming reinforced and new ones are being created, others weakening or in some cases disappearing altogether.

The second essential element of neural connectivity is the excitation/inhibition distinction.

The second essential element of neural connectivity is the excitation/inhibition distinction.

In human brains, each neuron is either excitatory or inhibitory, which is to say that its activation will either increase the firing rates of connected neurons, or decrease the rate, respectively.

In human brains, each neuron is either excitatory or inhibitory, which is to say that its activation will either increase the firing rates of connected neurons, or decrease the rate, respectively.

The amount of excitation or inhibition produced is of course, dependent on the connection strength - a stronger connection means more inhibition or excitation, a weaker connection means less.

The amount of excitation or inhibition produced is of course, dependent on the connection strength – a stronger connection means more inhibition or excitation, a weaker connection means less.

The third important component in determining a neuron's response is called the transfer function.

Without getting into more technical detail, the transfer function describes how a neuron's firing rate varies with the input it receives.

A very sensitive neuron may fire with very little input, for example.

A neuron may have a threshold, and fire rarely below threshold, and vigorously above it.

A neuron may have a bell-curve style firing pattern, increasing its firing rate up to a maximum, and then levelling off or decreasing when over-stimulated.

A neuron may sum its inputs, or average them, or something entirely more complicated.

Each of these behaviours can be represented mathematically, and that representation is called the transfer function.
